Sinop Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( Sinop Ticaret ve Sanayi Odası )Türkiye signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Australian Turkish Chamber of Commerce.
This agreement underscores a shared commitment to strengthening trade and investment opportunities between Australia and Türkiye.
The MOU was signed at the residence of the Melbourne consul general of the republic of Türkiye by Salim Akbaş, Chairman of Sinop Chamber of Commerce and Industry , together with Attila Ceylanbas, Chairman and Bekir Kilic, MAICD, Co-founder and Board Director of the Australian Turkish Chamber of Commerce.
The signing was also attended by His Excellency, Ufuk Gezer, the Turkish Ambassador to Australia, Mr Doğan Isik, Turkish Consul General Melbourne, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), Natalie Suleyman MP Government of Victoria, Hazal Oğuz Sarıkaya, Commercial Attaché and other distinguished guests.
Sinop Province’s economy is anchored in primary sectors, especially agriculture, fishing, forestry, and tourism, with modest industrial and artisanal activity complementing these foundations. Key opportunities for growth include enhanced value-added processing, sustainable tourism development, and expansion of SMEs in fisheries and related services, supported by strategic investments and infrastructure.
Under the agreement, both chambers will work collaboratively to explore and advance practical opportunities that foster stronger commercial ties.
