Nizip Ticaret Borsası (Nizip Chamber of Industry) Türkiye signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Australian Turkish Chamber of Commerce.
This agreement underscores a shared commitment to strengthening trade and investment opportunities between Australia and Türkiye.
The MOU was signed at the residence of the Melbourne consul general of the republic of Türkiye by İbrahim Sarı, Chairman of the Mersin Chamber of Industry, together with Attila Ceylanbas, Chairman and Bekir Kilic, MAICD, Co-founder and Board Director of the Australian Turkish Chamber of Commerce.
The signing was also attended by His Excellency, Ufuk Gezer, the Turkish Ambassador to Australia, Mr Doğan Isik, Turkish Consul General Melbourne, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), Natalie Suleyman MP Government of Victoria, Hazal Oğuz Sarıkaya, Commercial Attaché and other distinguished guests.
Agriculture serves as the economic backbone of Nizip, with major crops including Gaziantep pistachios, olives, lentils, wheat, barley, and grapes
Nizip’s organized industrial zone, established in 2002, spans 250 hectares and supports around 33 companies. The focus areas include food processing, office furniture, agricultural tools, and textile products
Within the city center 150 companies operate in plastics, flour and semolina production, carpet manufacturing, acrylic yarn, and metal goods. Nizip benefits from its strategic location near the Syrian border, which fosters a dynamic logistics and trade sector.
Under the agreement, both chambers will work collaboratively to explore and advance practical opportunities that foster stronger commercial ties.
