The Australian Turkish Chamber of Commerce has formalised a partnership with the Aydın Sanayi Odası (Aydın Chamber Of Industry) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the World Chambers Congress (ICC) visit held in Australia. This agreement underscores a shared commitment to strengthening trade and investment opportunities between Australia and Türkiye.
The MOU was signed at the residence of the Melbourne consul general of the republic of Türkiye by Gökhan Maraş, Chairman of the Aydin Chamber of Industry, together with Attila Ceylanbas, Chairman and Bekir Kilic, MAICD, Co-founder and Board Director of the Australian Turkish Chamber of Commerce.
The signing was also attended by His Excellency, Ufuk Gezer, the Turkish Ambassador to Australia, Mr Doğan Isik, Turkish Consul General Melbourne, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), Minister. Natalie Suleyman MP Government of Victoria, Hazal Oğuz Sarıkaya, Commercial Attaché and other distinguished guests.
The primary industry in Aydın Province is overwhelmingly agriculture, underpinned by its fertile soils, favourable Mediterranean climate, and long-standing cultivation traditions. Aydın Province holds a strategically important location in western Anatolia, in the Aegean Region of Türkiye due to its geography, transport links, and economic potential.
This diverse industrial landscape positions Aydin as a key partner for fostering trade and investment opportunities with Australia.
Under the agreement, both chambers will work collaboratively to explore and advance practical opportunities that foster stronger commercial ties.
